Meetings and Events

CSR Meetings, Activities, Events, and Trips

As Bevo Sees It is an AA meeting that was started by students at University High School, Austin's first recovery high school. It is open to anyone who desires to stop drinking and is interested in attending an AA meeting.

The CSR Group Activity is designed to be a place where students in recovery can come together as a community to connect, share experiences, and have fun. This includes group check-ins, mind/body/spirit workshops, invited guest speakers, and other activities to help you grow in your recovery.

Campus Open Recovery is an open 12-step meeting, acknowledging that each person’s path is unique and reflects their personal experiences and strengths. These meetings are an opportunity for social support that focuses on the hope and healing found in recovery and to connect with others who are initiating and maintaining a recovery lifestyle. We welcome anyone in recovery or hoping to find recovery from addictions of any kind.

SMART Recovery (Self-Management and Recovery Training) is an approach to recovery that teaches skills and tools designed to enhance and maintain motivation to abstain, cope with urges, and manage thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Longhorns for Recovery is a relaxed weekly community check-in that focuses on connection, fellowship, and fun. Open to students, staff, and faculty that are in recovery or allies to those in recovery.

Yoga for Recovery begins with 45 minutes of yoga taught by a certified yoga instructor who is also in 12-step recovery, followed by 45 minutes of a 12-step all addictions meeting. Mats are available to use for free.

SOAR the seminar on addiction and recovery

The Seminar on Addiction and Recovery (SOAR) is a monthly speaker series designed to create a community forum where participants can explore different dimensions and perspectives on addiction and recovery to enrich academic experience and become informed citizens.

Recovery Ally Trainings are available by rsvp and request. These trainings enable participants to learn about addiction and recovery, identify and respond to stigmatizing behavior and language, and help to create a campus culture that embraces recovery.

CSR hosts weekly meetings throughout the year, even when school is not in session. Sign up for the CSR email list, check the calendar, or print the weekly meeting schedule to stay up to date on our meetings and events. The Austin community holds a variety of recovery meetings that may be of interest to students.
